The concessionaire started looking for a contractor for the extension third lane on sections of the A2 motorway between the Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód junctions. Additionally, the company wants to commission the renovation of the surface at the Poznań Luboń and Poznań Wschód junctions, along with accompanying works.
Before drivers have an easier time, they will suffer traffic jams. This was the case with the construction of additional lanes, e.g. on the Poznań Zachód – Poznań Krzesiny section, which was put into use in 2019.
The work then took nine months. It’s worth mentioning that ended half a year ahead of schedule, which is unusual for road investments in Poland. The expansion cost PLN 202 million and was entirely financed by Autostrada Wielkopolska.

Difficulties on the A2 motorway
According to the order, the works are to be carried out on an active route. Traffic organization will be determined only with the selected contractors. Typically, one road is closed and cars traveling in both directions are transferred to the other.
The company will require the contractor to carry out the investment within a maximum of 16 months from the commencement of work. Similarly to GDDKiA investments, the winter period from December 15 to March 15 is not included.
The Poznań motorway bypass is 25 km long. Drivers do not have to pay to use this concession section.
